There is, however, a little more to it than simply ensuring that your outside wall lights are in the right place. Glare can cause big problems with these outside lights, and it comes from using wall lights with bulbs that are too bright. Rather than making your garden a more secure space, wall lights with lots of glare actually make the space easier for trespassers to hide in as they won’t be seen. This is because a truly extreme bright light will cast many shadows, and those shadows are ideal hiding places. Rather than lighting up your entire home, with a glaringly bright light you are actually creating more spaces for a potential burglar to hide in.
A ‘professional’ burglar will know this, and it is something they will look out for when deciding which property to break into. Moreover, bright lights allow a burglar to see better whilst hiding in the shadows, so they can do their work more quickly, minimising the risk of being caught. Glare is also caused when all lights are not shielded properly, which is why it can certainly be worth speaking to an expert about which lights will work for you before buying and installing any.
With proper planning, installation and care, your outside wall mounted lights can add an extra layer of security to your home. Take a look at The Wall Lighting Company Ltd’s website for a wide range of choice. For further advice, please get in touch on 01580 712805 or email@example.com.
