Benefits of Bespoke Wall Lights from the Cranbrook Collection

Cranbrook Collection wall lights are made to order and designed to be extremely customisable, making it easy to find the perfect wall lighting for your needs. Each shade style comes in various sizes, and you can select the fitting type, finish, and choose whether you need integrated switching.

We have designed the Cranbrook Collection to be a premium lighting solution, handmade at every step in the UK. All our shades are handmade by UK artisans – hand-blown English glass, Staffordshire ceramic, and Scottish-made fabric. The advantages of handmade lighting speak for themselves; the hard work and attention to detail that go into them, along with the quality materials used, create a superior quality product.

Advantages of Quality Wall Lighting

Wall lighting can serve multiple purposes in creating a proper, layered lighting design that is both practical and beautiful. They can serve as both task lighting and accent lighting – even ambient lighting with the right set-up. Their exact usage depends on where they are placed and what you want to achieve.

For bedroom wall lights, for example, a popular approach is to have two bedside wall lights on either side of the headboard. These can serve as reading lamps, quick lighting if you wake up in the night, and for relaxing in bed before you sleep without having to get up when you want to turn the lights off and go to sleep.

Living room wall lights, meanwhile, add ambience and bring needed extra light to spots that are used for reading, hobbies and other tasks. Many people prefer to connect living room wall lights to a dimmer switch to control light levels according to both.

When it comes to Bathroom wall lights, on the other hand, these should have an IP44 or better rating to resist water. They are often used either side of a mirror, to attractively frame it while reducing shadows and illuminating your face and body for shaving, make-up and the like.

Wall Lighting FAQ

Can Wall Lights be the Main Source of Light for the Room?

Wall lighting can be a room’s primary light source, though this generally takes larger and/or multiple wall lights. However, they are usually better paired with ceiling lights. Our Cranbrook Collection pendant lights make a perfect complement to their wall-mounted counterparts for a complete and consistently high-quality setup.

Are Cranbrook Collection Wall Lights Suitable for Bathroom Use

We offer a range of Cranbrook Collection Bathroom Lights – both wall and pendant – which are IP44 rated for most bathroom locations. As The Cranbrook Collection is handmade to order, if you can’t see the style you like in our bathroom range we can still provide a bathroom version as an optional upgrade. Depending how close to water sources the lights are placed, IP44 rated lights may not be strictly required, though are still recommended.

What Finishes are Available?

Antique brass wall lights are our most popular option – for the Cranbrook Collection and across our other ranges – but we offer several other attractive finish options too – bronze, nickel and polished brass.
